For years, we’ve been the trusted guardian angel for many after they’ve suffered an injury, and our founder, Lindsey McKay, a mother of six, understands the importance of investing in the future. We recognize that pursuing a college education can often be challenging due to other life obligations. Through our Guardian Angel Scholarship, we aim to alleviate some of this burden and reward those who make a difference in their community.

The scholarship will award $2000 annually to a current or prospective college student who has excelled not only in the classroom, but in his or her community.

At McKay Law, we’re not just about pursuing justice; we’re about making a difference beyond the courtroom. Our founder, Lindsey McKay, was inspired by the profound generosity she experienced living with local families in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Southern Germany during her collegiate years. The kindness of these families instilled in her a deep sense of giving back, which she carried into her personal injury practice. As her career flourished, Lindsey’s desire to repay the kindness she received transformed into a commitment to ‘paying it forward.’ McKay Law isn’t simply a law firm, it’s a promise to care for our clients, just as Lindsey was cared for by the families she lived with during her travels. We believe in not just winning cases, but in contributing positively to our community and putting empathy at the forefront of our practice. Scholarship Amount:

$2000.00

Application Due:

April 1, 2025

Scholarship Eligibility:

Individual must be entering or currently enrolled as a full or part time student in an accredited university in the United States
Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (MUST provide transcripts)
Has made a difference in their community by helping others
Selection is based on the creativity of your community involvement and extent of overall efforts in the community.

Essay Requirements:

Write an essay of 750 words or more on:

How have you been successful in paying it forward?
Who has benefited and how has it benefited them?
Design a new McKay Law Firm community pay it forward initiative describing how the community will benefit, who within the community will benefit, and why the community needs it.

How to Enter:

Send the following together in a single email to scholarship@mckaylawtx.com by the due date:

Your essay.
A copy of your most recent school transcripts.
In the body of the email include your full name, age, current contact information, and the location and name of the college or university you are currently or will be attending.

Winners:

Winners will be notified by phone and email by April 30, 2025. Checks will be paid directly to the student’s college or university.
